Master of Philosophy

The MPhil in political scienceunderlines the research-led study of government and political institutions from area-specific and comparative perspectives and provides a range of educational experiences in a variety of learning environments to develop your written and oral communication skills as well as other technical skills.The MPhil will provide you with a solid foundation for a wide range of careers, including academic, professional, commercial, diplomatic, and governmental positions.

M.Phil. program is atwo-year full-timeresearch program where 1st year consists of course-work and 2nd year by a thesis/ research monograph on a topic approved by the department. All M. Phil. students are to conduct field research in support of their thesis/research monograph. Field research may include gathering data, literature search, interviews, surveys, etc. Students are being guided by their supervisors in preparing their thesis/research monographs.

Students are required to take any two courses from the courses titled, contemporary political analysis; governance and development; public policy analysis; politics of globalization; politics of south Asia with reference to Bangladesh; government and politics in east Asia.
